I just ran across that A.J. Jacobs book a few weeks ago, but hadn’t heard anything about it. I assume that a 4 means you think it’s worth reading…

Yeah, a 4 means it probably won’t change your life but it is well worth your time. I actually learned a lot about the Hebrew/Old Testament culture through it. He has a kind of Donald Miller-esque humor to ordinary things in life.

A 4.5! Bested only by Rob Bell and John Krakauer! I am honored we even made the list. :)

Thank you so much for reading and recommending our book.

Nice job man! I’m actually reading the Irresistible Revolution from Shane Claiborne, along with like 3 other books. Another book I would suggest to you is Save Me From Myself by Brian “Head” Welch. It is his story of his adventures in Korn and how his life changed when he found God.

I love it that you read Veritas. You should read Lights on Tenth Street as well. It is a continuation of the story of Veritas. Also, thank you for the suggestion of Sophie’s World, it has inspired me to start teaching my daughter about philosophy, which does not excite her, but I believe that it will one day.

Shark – Yeah, I bought Lights on Tenth Street but I haven’t read it yet. I will. And I’m stoked to hear you found a personal application from Sophie’s World.

Hey if you’re a fan of Shane Claiborne and his book, then you should really check out the Another World is Possible DVD series. It’s a multimedia project by Shane Claiborne and Jamie Moffett (co-founders of the Simple Way) that emerged in response to their belief that things are not right in the world, and that they don’t have to stay that way. There are three DVD’s, one on war, one on poverty, and one on creation. You can find out more about them at http://www.awip.us.
