An interesting post, but most of the info was truly self explanatory. Some of it was really good though.

Good piece, Jeremy with some practical and useful ideas! Most of the tips suggested we’ve incorporated (okay, I give credit to Kirk for being the money saving guru that he is!) But the one area I’d say we’ve noticed the most results for saving money has been putting in the compact fluorescent bulbs all throughout our house. Not only do they last for years instead of months and consume little power, but generate little heat (which really helps in the AZ summer months, plus when you do need to change them, they’re not hot to the touch at all!) The only downside to these lights (for me, that is), is they don’t really give off a true natural light like the incandescents. I know, picky, picky! Also, lowering your hot water temp by 10degrees really does make a big diff too!
