Well, your fingernail has caused some deep questions to rise up. Personally, I think the thing I fear the most with new growth is an expanding family. All of the unknowns of adding another child to the mix makes me excited but at the same time scared of how much that will change me and my everyday life.
In a different area of my life that I see this is with new relationships. It is sometimes hard to see that an old friendship might not be as healthy as once thought and that new friendships can be very exciting. Some of my most rewarding friendships have been made through very weird situations and a lot of time and effort. I definitely see God move through the uncomfortable times of life through "letting the nail go".
