Don’t Stand Up for Jesus
I realized how much the culture wars affect our faith as Christians when I watched the traffic for my post about Chick-fil-A this week. The conversations on all sides of the argument have been interesting to watch. One of them in particular stood out to me. I listened to a powerful message from Jonathan Martin that he preached last weekend. Jonathon is a pastor of Renovatus Church in the Church of God denomination.
Here are a few of the quotes that stood out to me:
“Instead of standing up for Jesus, we should stand up with Jesus… and Jesus stands up for the guilty.†“That’s the kind of statements we want to make.
