Ever struggled to keep up with email? Uh, yeah. Me too.

I hear so many people talk about the daily grind of trying to keep up with email. Regardless of what email software you use, the following video explains an easy trick that I’ve used for years now and that helps me to navigate my email with very little stress or anxiety. Watch the video and try it yourself!

  1. Jeremy, I have been using a method very similar to this over the last 13 years of my professional engineering career with great success. The only difference is I typically never get to 0 inbox. That’s a little too OCD for me :) I typically have less than 10 in there at the end of each day. Anything that I am waiting for someone else to follow up on before I can do my part, I leave in there too. That way it’s still a to do, but just not yet. Therefore it’s still on my daily radar. I don’t folder it since to me that’s archived just in case I need be refreshed on the information.

    • I forgot to add another trick I use. If I send an email that needs response from someone, I move it from my “sent” folder to by inbox. That way it’s on my radar or “to do” list to follow up with them if I don’t hear back from them within 24 hours. That way I can quickly scan my inbox and see how many things are in my court (sent from someone else) and how many things I am waiting for from other people (sent from me).
