I hate it because it forces a mirror into the dark areas of my soul where brokenness hides and self-delusions are born. But I love it because it forces me to accept truth and to seek God in my weakness. Even when I’m quick to praise myself for doing the right thing I must always return to the motivations of my heart and my dependence on the goodness of Christ alone.
