Angry Birds Theology

I heard an incredible story recently from some friends of ours. The dad of a 5 year old boy was telling me that they were sitting in church with his wife while their son was sitting next to them playing angry birds. That day, the pastor was describing the Trinity. He was referencing different analogies that are commonly used such as water and an egg. In the midst of this, my friend’s son stops his game and says, “Dad, it’s like this,” and then shows him the picture above on his phone.

Kids say the darndest things.

Since our analogies will always fall short, and since the egg and the water have been used quite a bit, I’m excited to start rolling this one out. I can see me talking with someone about this: “So, God is like the blue angry bird.”

Theology can be found in the most unlikely places.

Interesting way to explain the mystery of the trinity. We have been using “Big truths for young hearts” by Bruce Ware, we talk about the trinity around the dinner table now with our children.
